Turkish runic alphabet

The Old Turkic runiform script was used mainly from the 7th to the 10th century for a wide variety of purposes, including monumental inscriptions, funerary and memorial inscriptions, divination books, religious texts, and letters. The script was developed specifically for Turkic and is particularly well suited to the language’s distinctive features, including sound harmony, vowel length, its suffix-rich agglutinative grammar, and dialectal differences in pronunciation.
