Maitrisimit - A Buddhist Apocalypse

Maitrisimit is an Old Turkic Buddhist work recounting the life and teachings of Maitreya, the future Buddha. Adapted from a Tocharian Buddhist drama, it is divided into a prologue and 27 chapters. The surviving manuscripts provide important evidence for Old Turkic language, literature and Buddhist culture.
