ıt

Meaning:
dog

ıt is the ordinary Old Turkic word for “dog”. Its back vowel is confirmed by early forms with back-vowel suffixes, especially Karakhanid ıtığ and ıtka; the front-vowel it found in many later Turkic languages is secondary.
