öd

Meaning:
time; moment, period; season, hour

The word is traditionally transcribed öd, but Brāhmī spellings in Old Turkic texts consistently support üd. Its historical final consonant was ḏ/d, not t; consequently a proposed derivation from öt- “to pass through” is unconvincing. The original vowel length is not independently established.
