tıtıl- describes something being reduced to shreds or fibres. With cooked meat it means “to fall apart into fibres”; with clothing, “to become ragged or torn to pieces”.
It must be distinguished from the front-vocalic titil- “to be abandoned or given up”, which belongs to the separate verb tit- “to renounce”.
Erdal (2004) proposes a long vowel.
