tarıg

Meaning:
crop, grain, millet; cultivated land

tarığ is probably a deverbal noun formed from tarı- “to cultivate, sow” with -ğ, literally “that which is cultivated or sown”. Doerfer instead connected it directly with tar- “to scatter, disperse”, partly on the basis of the variant tarağ, whereas Erdal treats the agricultural tarı- family and tar- as distinct.
