𐰇𐰔
ö:z
Meaning:
self, essence
There is a strong evidence that the word ȫŕ in Proto-Turkic is derived from the verb ȫ- (to think) + -ŕ (#{proto.grammar.affixes.r1}) (Räsänen, 1969) and thus can be interpreted as "a tool of thinking". This word became ȫz in Old Turkic (#{grammar.phonetics.shift_r_to_z}).
