tärk
Meaning:
quick, fast, quickly
tärk is an adverbial adjunct meaning “quickly, swiftly”, temporally also “soon”, and in some Old Uyghur contexts “suddenly”. It can be intensified by reduplication, as in tärk tärk “very quickly”. Its etymology is disputed: competing Turkic analysis connects it with the root reflected by täz- “to flee, run away” and analyzes it as a deverbal formation *tär-k (cf. kör- and körk).
